Treating of hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis mostly concerns feet, hands, and in about 30-40% of the cases, armpits.
Botulin toxin is used in the process of treatment. It is a preparation of protein, obtained from the Clostridium botulinum bactery. The doctor injects a small volume (0.1-0.2 mL) of  botulinum toxin solution in 10-15 spots separated by 1 cm, evenly covering the area of both armpits, hands, feet.

The procedure takes about 30 minutes. After an injection of a small dose into the skin, toxin blocks the nerves that supply the exocrine glands. This prevents the release of their sweat. The effect of the treatment last about 6-9 months. Perspiration is reduced by 87% after one week of treatment.
